supervision

“Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.”

~Maya Angelou

As practitioners, we need to take a step back from being so closely involved in our daily practice. It is not only our ethical duty to our clients, but to ourselves, to receive good quality, meaningful supervision that facilitates our deep critical reflection.

Some workplaces require mandatory supervision and may not have the internal capacity or resources to provide this. Some governing bodies, such as the AASW, require minimum supervision needs to be met. Some people may also simply seek this out for themselves to assist their career development or because they are interested in taking their practice to an elevated level.

“We do not learn from experience. We learn from reflecting on experience.”

I have been a practitioner across a variety of human service industries for over a decade and engaged in my own supervision, both within workplaces and privately. I operate under various supervision and coaching models with flexibility to what suits you (PACE, 7 eyed model, COLD debriefing model, Napier's 2006 model of deconstruction, resistance and reconstruction, the 4 R’s, critical social work, eFIRE, GROW).

Costs are kept lower than recommended standards to support industry early professional development.
